As I reflect on my first year as the Director of Communications for the RRA, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude. This role has given me a unique perspective on the incredible amount of work that goes on behind the scenes. Our small but dedicated team has shown unwavering focus and commitment, driven by a shared passion to make significant, positive changes in this community.
Throughout the past year, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that our neighborhood remains a safe, welcoming, and vibrant place for all residents.
One of the key take outs from our 2024 Annual RRA Survey was the interest shown by residents in becoming more involved in community projects and initiatives. This, coupled with the severe time, capacity and resource constraints we face as a small group of Directors and Street Leaders tasked with delivering against a daunting portfolio of security and maintenance, highlighted the need for the establishment of a RRA Community Action Network.
We will be putting out an appeal to all residents this February to assess what resources, skills and support we would be able to leverage going forward. Residents can elect how they would like to be involved along with a preferred area of interest e.g. Security, Social Media and Marketing, Fundraising, Events, Maintenance, Urban Greening / Park Revitalisation and Charity/Community Service projects.
Together, we aim to create a better and safer neighborhood, fostering a sense of unity and collaboration that will continue to drive our community forward.
Thank you for your ongoing support and participation. Let’s make this year our best yet!
